The French Brasserie is one of Melbourne's best French restaurants. Established in 2008, The French Brasserie serves up a medley of light, cherished brasserie dishes in a contemporary, inviting space of soaring ceilings and vast glass expanses. A husband and wife team, Hadj and Lina Sadki, own and manage the restaurant with a hands-on approach and personal touch that has created an exemplary and unforgettable experience for every guest. Chef Deplus’ Michelin expertise and stylish dishes, complimented by an extensive Australian and French wine list compiled by the in-house sommelier, will also captivate your senses.

Meet Head Chef Edouard Deplus

Chef EdouardBorn in Normandy to academic parents who had no interest in cooking, Edouard Deplus was encouraged to pursue law from young age.

After studying at The Paul Bocuse Institute for three years, he discovered his passion for food. He went on to work at three-star Michelin restaurant Yannick Alleno at the Meurice in Paris, and continued on to Le Pas Sage for another year.

Arriving in Melbourne in 2012, Edouard began work at The French Brasserie where he strived to give his customers the highest quality seasonal food as possible. Creating classic dishes with a modern twist,Edouard's best sellers are the Boeuf Bourguignon, Cassoulet and Canard a L'orange.
